Aberdeen Harbour Board

Aberdeen Harbour is Europe’s premier marine support centre for the oil and gas industry and the main commercial port serving North East Scotland. The harbour has played an intrinsic role in the commercial success of the city that grew up around it over the past 881 years.

The Harbour was founded in 1136, and with a near-900 year history, is the oldest existing business in the UK. Aberdeen Harbour Board is an independent statutory authority formed under the terms of the Aberdeen Harbour Order Confirmation Act 1960. It is responsible for the administration, maintenance and improvement of the port.
